Sourdough discard pie crust

It's the perfect time for baking! Did you know you can prepare your pie crust in advance and freeze it? This allows you to simply take it out when you're ready to bake your pie! I used to purchase pre-made pie crusts until I attempted to make my own. It's incredibly easy and tastes so much better!
But I don't do sourdough????
This is a delicious flaky pie crust made with sourdough, but I've also provided instructions below for making it without sourdough discard.
What makes this pie crust so good???
Butter! Yes, butter! There are many recipes that use shortening, but once you make it with butter you just can't go back.....and lets face it, why would you?
The great thing about this recipe is that you can make it entirely in the food processor! Alternatively, if you'd rather not use it, you can opt for a biscuit cutter or even two knives to incorporate the butter!
The final tip for this recipe is to use cold ingredients! Ensure your butter, water, and egg are all cold!

Mix everything in a food processor, until the dough comes together in a ball. Divide the dough in two parts (it makes 2 pie crusts!) and wrap each one in plastic wrap. Place in the freezer.
When you're ready to make a pie, just take the dough out of the freezer about 25 minutes prior.
***If you don't use sourdough, just replace the 1/2 cup sour discard with another 1/2 cup all purpose flour!***
